Hans Dam Aviation Collection

Abstract Hans Dam was a 50-year collector of aviation memorabilia, especially photographs and newspaper and magazine clippings. His primary areas of interest included air races and air shows, early flight, WACO aircraft, and the history of aviation in southwestern Ohio and northern Kentucky. At the time of his death he was working on a book about aviation in southwestern Ohio which is included in the collection. The collection consists of twenty-nine albums containing more than 2500 photographs...

Abstract

Photographs in the scrapbook highlight a number of aviation events between 1925 and 1931, including the crash of the airship Shenandoah and the National Air Races in Cleveland of 1929 and, especially, 1931. The photographs were taken by George Chapley, of Warren, Ohio. The collection also includes 2 photographs of Chapley himself.

Abstract

The Ivan & The Sabers / The Lemon Pipers Collection contains materials collected by Ivan Browne (chiefly photographs and press cuttings) during his career as a musician with both bands. Ivan & The Sabers were a Dayton area rock band active from1961-1966. They opened for the Rolling Stones at Dayton's Hara Arena in 1964. The Lemon Pipers achieved international recognition with their 1968 number one single "Green Tambourine".
